'Puls Biznesu' reports that the owner of Zlomrex, Przemyslaw Sztuczkowski is more and more involved in undertaking of building a new steelworks in Poland.
Advanced negotiations are already taking place with contractors ready to invest in building the steel manufacturing factory. The business plan is also under extensive review. The locations of Swidnik, Czestochowa and Stalowa Wola are being considered for the location of the steelworks.
This Zlomrex move is regarded as positive by metal sector specialists (Kazimierz Kowalski, vice president of Hutnicza Izba Przemyslowo-Handlowa). Poland imports large quantities of steel already and estimates show that in 2012 we'll be forced to import. The building of a new steelworks in Poland may serve to strengthen the Polish position as the manufacturer of steel goods. |

RBK daily reports that the global steel manufacturer ArcelorMittal, responsible for 10% of the world's steel production is announcing price droppings. The announcement concernes price droppings in South Africa, but sector experts emphasize the lasting downward tendency and notice the possibility for the steel parts' price droppings on the global market.
This year the steel sector everywhere in the world got hit by price increases of 70, and sometimes even 100%. In August the steel prices began to drop and it seems that it's a stable trend. The more cautious experts say that it's a seasonal price dropping. Usually, the steel prices in autumn drop around 10-40%. However much indicates that the rising trend in steel prices is already passed. |
